The Banded Geckos

The Banded Geckos, a quartet, specialize in three and four part vocal harmony, lyrical humor, heartfelt ballads, and spirited acoustic instrumentation (guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, bass, and harmonica). Their music is an engaging blend of Contemporary Folk, Swing, and Traditional Jazz elements. Their set list is packed with originals as well as classics from the 1940's onward.
The Banded Geckos are full of the energy musician friends get from creating together and they share this joy with the audience, making it impossible not to leave your blues behind!
History: Four Cd's plus a Christmas release, Kerrville Fok Festival (9 main stage appearances), Kerrville on the Road Tour, music clubs all over Texas and New Mexico, festivals in Kansas, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Washington, and Colorado. The Geckos have opened for Lyle Lovett and His Large Band tour. The Geckos have opened concert shows for Loudon Wainwright III, Doc Watson, the Dillards, Hot Rize, and others, Doug Hudson has toured Europe with various bands and appeared on the David Letterman Show. The Banded Geckos have been performing since 1980, Tim and Evelyne being the core group. Gus Fory joined in 1981. Past members include Fred McDonough, Gary Young, Charlie Arruda, Robert Knetsch, and Grey Howell. Doug Hudson joined in January, 2019.
